At Springhallow we provide access to programmes of work/study to encourage some of our students to develop and achieve their full potential both academically and socially within a mainstream setting. We facilitate an integration programme in partnership with local schools for students who would benefit from a mainstream placement.
The integration programme provides our students with the opportunity to:
- Develop their full potential academically and acquire success at GCSE level (if appropriate)
- Develop social relationships with mainstream students within the bounds of their diagnosis.
- Further develop their social and independence skills.
- Undertake ‘Travel Training’ so that they can successfully travel independently to/from their integration placement.
Although we work with many local schools, our main integration link is with Drayton Manor High School. We have worked very successfully with them for over nearly 20 years to ensure the well being and success of over 100 of our students.
We also have a number of students from local schools that integrate into Springhallow to access our expertise and any relevant programmes that we run within the school.
